April 24, 2013 / 00:16 guitar lessons
I have five beautiful old persian pages, which I got as a present from my friend, an amazing artist Yakov Feldman. Few of them still have some remains of illustration, in a very bad condition, though. When I told Yakov, that they are too beautiful to ruin them with my drawings, he shrugged his shoulders: «Just draw on top something. Finally, it is only a paper, you know.»
So I did. I decided to draw some scenes of our everyday life in persian style: the girls and me having a picnic in our garden, my friend Boaz gives guitar lessons to my daughter… And I don’t know what will come next on the three others :) . I enjoy so much to touch this old paper with my thin brushes, it absorbs the colors easily, but never makes them blurred. I also wonder, where can I get some more. ![]()

I printed two umbrellas at Artscow, and they are made at surprisingly nice quality.

January 8, 2013 / 09:21 Little monsters from Denmark
Recently I got an email from Denmark, that made me feel very happy:
«Hey Lena I’m an artist from Denmark — and I also teach at an artschool for children. By incidence I came by your website, and I was very inspired by your artwork. I decided to show your work to the children, and they all made a picture of a tamed monster. Maybe you will like to see the children’s work? They are between 6 and 9 years old. You`ll find a link here Thank you, Jane and kids, your monsters are so beautiful! ![]() by Anna to see more amazing monsters that children made

On the way from theater class my children scared passers-by. I think we should try it at night :)

December 10, 2012 / 15:43 Swimming in December
It was such a beautiful sunset yesterday! I can’t understand how kids can swim in such a cold water. But at least I learned to take with me some extra clothes every time we go to the sea in winter.

May 7, 2012 / 00:25 Prague Toy Museum![]() I’m back from Prague. A lot of beer, unhealthy food, lot of waking, talking with friends (Russians, Israeli and German meet in Prague, sounds like a beginning of a joke :), thoughts and inspiration. I won’t be original to say, that I was extrimely inspired by the collection of vintage toys at Prague Toy Museum. I don’t know what is it about these old tin and wooden creatures, funny and scary at the same time, that make me want to draw. Some subtle facial expressions, probably. Here are some of hundreds of photos I made there: © 2007—2021 Lena Revenko |
